7. Cleveland Browns (5-11)

DB Joe Haden (Florida)  

This is a very interesting pick... The Browns can go so many possible ways here.  They are in need of a QB, they lack a pass rush, and they can't stop the run.  McClain would be an interesting pick, as well as Florida CB Joe Haden.  With Berry off the board, this pick is very difficult to see coming.  My pick:  CB Joe Haden.  I firmly believe that he is the best CB in this draft.  He brings the physical ability to jam the receiver, help the run defense, and cover any receiver down the field.  

Why he's good for the Browns:

Joe is the best cornerback in this draft.  He will instantly upgrade the Browns' defense and will also help to solidify their rushing defense.  

Panthers Looking for Help on the Offensive Side of the Ball

According to NFL.Com analyst, Gil Brandt, the Carolina Panthers will look to draft some help at the wide receiver position this year.  The Panthers, who do not have a 1st round draft pick, have the 48th overall pick in the draft. According to the Charlotte Observer, the Panthers have been seen all over scouting WR talent, and are in desperate need to help out 31 year old Steve Smith.  While Smith is still among the best in the league, he is constantly hassled with double-teams, and it would be great for QB Matt Moore to come into the season with a little bit more help.  Although top prospects Golden Tate and Dez Bryant will be long gone, look for the  Panthers to key on LSU's Brandon LaFell, USC's Damian Williams.

This is a good idea for the Panthers.  They need someone to step up and help out Steve Smith.  He's turning 32 and he isn't going to be around forever.  I saw John Fox roaming around paying attention to Aaron Hernandez, as well as WR David Nelson while I was at Pro Day.  Nelson really stepped up and showed me something when he ran a 4.47 in the 40 yard dash.  Look for some type of help on the offensive side of the ball with their top pick.

27. Dallas Cowboys (11-5)

OT Bruce Campbell (Maryland)

Now that LT Flozell Adams has been cut, the Dallas Cowboys are in desperate need of some sort of offensive line depth.  They have two options here, one being Florida OG Maurkice Pouncey, and the other being OT Bruce Campbell.  While I believe that Pouncey is the better pick at number 27, I don't think that Dallas wants to wait until the 2nd round or later to address this most obvious need.  Campbell amazed everyone at the NFL Combine posting the best 40 yard dash, as well as top 10 numbers in bench press, vertical jump, 3-cone drill, and 20 yard shuffle.  This workout warrior is a physical specimen at 6'6 314 pounds, and is gifted enough to start early in his career.  The only problem with him has been durability, and maybe a lack of great technique, as he has been known to get lazy at times.  Whatever the case may be, he probably won't be as much of a headache as Adams was.

Why he's good for the Cowboys:

The Cowboys are going into the season right now with no depth whatsoever at the tackle and guard position.  This is a need that needs to be addressed if they want to continue to run the ball as well as they did last year.  With a new LT in place for the next 5 years or so, they will be headed in the right direction.  The offensive line has always been a huge key to the success of the Cowboys, and it won't stop anytime soon.

16. Tennessee Titans (8-8)

DE Carlos Dunlap (Florida)

With the most glaring holes found on the defensive line, the Tennessee Titans select Carlos Dunlap, who may possess some of the top potential in the draft.  Dunlap, who was a huge part of the Florida Gator defense, possesses the combination of size, speed, strength, and athleticism needed to be a dominant player in the NFL.  Due to  his physical tools, Dunlap was projected as a top 10 pick, but the Titans are happy that he's still there.  With DE Kyle Vanden Bosch leaving for the Detroit Lions this offseason, a huge void is created on a defensive line whose depth is very thin.   

Why he's good for the Titans:

Besides the glaring need of more playmakers on defense, Dunlap has such great potential that it is hard to pass up on this talent.  With good coaching and hard work, Dunlap has the chance to become the steal of the draft.  With such a porous pass defense, the ability to rush the passer becomes even more important to this team.

10. Jacksonville Jaguars(7-9)

CB Joe Haden (Florida)

With the best defensive end taken off the board, and a new approach that calls for taking the best player available, the Jacksonville Jaguars shore up a spot on their roster that they are lacking in.  Jacksonville takes Joe Haden, who is the consensus no. 1 CB in the draft, as they start to rebuild a defense that surrendered 236 yards per game through the air.  Haden brings the ability to cover any receiver one-on-one, as well as help in run support, which was another soft spot in the Jags defense.  

Why he's good for the Jaguars: 

Joe Haden is the best player available and instantly shores up their secondary.  While Derek Cox is going to be great for years to come, Rashean Mathis is close to the end of his career as a starter.  Mathis, who is a former Pro Bowler, hasn't seen the field for a full season in the past three years, and it would be great to have an insurance policy of Haden's caliber waiting in the wings.
