14. Seattle Seahawks (5-11)
DB Earl Thomas (Texas)
With C.J. Spiller off of the board, the Seahawks don't get the big play threat that they were hoping for in the first round. If the Seahawks really wanted to go into rebuilding mode, they would draft another offensive lineman. I don't know if that's the way they will go, but I would draft OT Bryan Bulaga out of Iowa if I was in charge. The key to the offense is protecting the quarterback, and although they have started the rebuilding of the offensive line, they are nowhere close to being done.
Why he's good for the Seahawks:
Earl Thomas, as I have said before, is one of the best play-makers in the draft on defense. Although he's young, this guy is very instinctive, and has the ability to become one of the best safeties in the league. This pick helps out a defense that was ranked 30th against the pass.
