Since there are two months left until actual football is played, I thought it would be a good idea to present a list of Restricted Free Agents that are left out there. Today is the deadline for old clubs to send tender to unsigned unrestricted free agents to receive exclusive negotiating rights for rest of season if the player is not signed by another club by July 22. This is also the deadline for old clubs to send tender to their unsigned RFAs or to extend an offer to retain exclusive negotiating rights. This is what the St. Louis Rams are up against in regards to Safety O.J. Atogwe. The Rams have been in constant talks with the safety, but if they don't place a high tender or sign him to an extension by midnight, he will become an unrestricted free agent.
June 1-11 begins all of the Organized Team Activities, while June 15th starts mandatory mini-camps across the NFL. Late July is when training camps begin, and Preseason starts in August.
Here is a list of remaining unsigned RFAs team by team:
Now that we have seen most of the Pro Day and Scouting Combine footage, it's going to be a lot easier to assess team's needs and evaluate where certain players will get picked. Starting with the Number 1 pick in the 2010 NFL Draft:
While Oklahoma Sooners former QB Sam Bradford is rehabbing down in Florida, the St. Louis Rams made a trip down in order to get a much needed update regarding his shoulder injury. Bradford, who injured his throwing shoulder during this past season, has been down in Pensacola rehabbing as well as training. According to the St. Louis Dispatch, General Manager Billy Devaney and Offensive Coordinator Pat Shurmur made an appearance in order to sit down and talk to both Bradford and surgeon, Dr. James Andrews.
The Rams, despite Ndamukong Suh being the best overall player in the draft, will eventually go quarterback at the no. 1 pick. This is obviously a need pick, because they do not have a leader on the field, and quarterback is a HUGE need for them. In the end, this will be the best option for them because if Bradford does show on March 29th during Pro Day that he is 100% recovered, he will be the best QB in the draft by far. That day will be just as highly anticipated as Florida Pro Day.
Adam Schefter appeared on a local radio show and has all but guaranteed that the St. Louis Rams will take QB Sam Bradford in the 2010 NFL Draft. He has not spoken to any Rams' officials, but he says,
"I have spoken to enough other people and have heard enough other things that tell me there is no way the St. Louis Rams will not wind up taking Sam Bradford."
